Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a welcoming phlebotomist to join our team at fixed site locations in the Washington area. You will collect lifesaving blood donations, ensure donor comfort, and follow safety procedures under the guidance of experienced staff.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided, no prior medical experience required, and a path to grow healthcare skills within the nation's leading humanitarian organization. Competitive benefits accompany your service.

Qualifications

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and long irregular hours.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming back again and again.
• Be detailed oriented all day, every day to ensure collected blood meets goals and regulatory requirements.
