Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
• Foreign medical degree holders may require state licensure or emergency technician certification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection centers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care including administering medications per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation eligibility.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and respond to questions.
• Review test results and assess ongoing donor suitability; refer as needed.
• Counsel donors on reactive results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical cases to physicians.
