Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To promote the home pick up service and special corporate donation service with timely and courteous customer service.

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances profitability of the Goodwill Industries.

To represent Goodwill in a professional manner to reflect values and standards of its mission and goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To offer excellent customer service when picking up at homes or businesses or making delivery to stores or warehouse and when in contact with the general public.
  • To obey all traffic regulations while acting in this function.
  • To perform DOT safety inspection of all vehicles before and after trips.
  • To load and unload trucks and trailers in a safe efficient manner.
  • To learn and exercise best methods and work practices for safety in loading and unloading all materials.
  • To maintain accurate records of daily activities, including pick-ups, mileage, and receipts.
  • To supervise and train truck driver helpers.
  • To keep equipment in best working order through regular maintenance program and to report any problems to the Operations Manager.
  • To perform general housekeeping, custodial and janitorial duties as may be scheduled and assigned.
  • To perform all other duties that may be assigned.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and write. Some formal driving training is helpful.

Work Experience: Must have current and valid driver’s license with limited points for driving violations.

Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting (up to 100 pounds), carrying (up to 50 pounds), pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors.

Safety & Security: Safety shoes and back support required.
