THE SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP is seeking a store cashier at the Port Charlotte location to assist customers with donations and purchases. You will operate and maintain a cash register, respond to questions, and help keep displays clean and organized.

Responsibilities include processing sales, balancing the cash drawer, maintaining records, and assisting donors with tax receipts. The role requires English communication and previous retail or cashier experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 1 year experience in a retail store and six months on a cash register or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Process sales using a cash register, collect payments, count change, prepare receipts, balance the cash drawer, and handle sales records.
• Prepare and maintain sales records and routine reports, keep the register area neat, secure, and stocked.
• Explain store policies and assist customers with pricing and purchases to ensure a pleasant store experience.
• Assist donors, direct them to loading areas, help move donations, and provide tax receipts.
• Arrange and rotate merchandise, answer the phone, record donations, and open/close the store as scheduled.
