Donation Attendant (River Ridge, LA)

Goodwill Industries of southeastern Louisiana – Full Time – Student (High School)

Responsibilities

• Project a positive image of Goodwill to all donors.
• Sort donated materials as instructed.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free work environment and promote safe, efficient, courteous service to donors.
• Accept donations from the general public and issue a receipt for donations.
• Follow Goodwill’s safety policies as they pertain to the work area.

Skills and Abilities

• Interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
• Market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
• Engage in prolonged standing, walking, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
• Work a flexible schedule on short notice, including days, nights and weekends.
• Lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
• Read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Prior work experience in the service industry preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions

Considerable physical exertion, exposure to unfit donated goods and materials. Alternate work schedule may include working at an attended donation station with no prior notice.
