Goodwill Dallas is seeking an entry-level team member to greet customers and donors and process donations under supervision. You will receive donations, issue receipts, and assist with lifting while keeping the stockroom organized and safe.

  • Sort and price donations and maintain organization of stock areas.
  • Keep production and store areas clean and safe and follow dress code requirements.
  • Provide general information to customers/donors and assist processors as needed.
  • Follow safety and public protection guidelines; escalate issues to management as needed.

Level: Entry | Job Location: DALLAS, TX 75234 | Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time | Salary Range: $14.00 Hourly | Job Shift: Any

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, greet customer/donor and process donation. Major duties include receiving donations, giving receipts, assisting co-workers or donors with lifting items, maintaining stockroom, greeting, and assisting donors/customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  1. Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
  2. Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated; assist customers with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.
  3. Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and make proper determination as to the quality of donations.
  4. Sort and price hard goods (miscel).
  5. Keep the production area clean and safe and other store areas as directed.
  6. Maintain a well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  1. Provide general information to customers/donors.
  2. Assist processors when needed.
  3. Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
  4. React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
  5. Refer all customer/donor complaints to management in a timely manner.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
  1. Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles.
  2. Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.

  5. Ability to react calmly and respond to emergency situations.
  6. Knowledge of textile articles related to garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc).
  7. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

(e.g. physical or environmental requirements, irregular work schedule, required license or certification, background check)

  1. Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  2. Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  3. Standing and walking for long periods of time,
  4. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
  5. Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.
  6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
