Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Donation Attendant to greet donors, verify donations, and issue receipts while upholding Goodwill's mission to help people grow in skills and employment.

You will assist customers, help unload donations, maintain a clean, safe workspace, operate pallet jacks when needed, and follow safety policies under the Retail department headed by the General Manager.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and donors cheerfully.
  • Receive, verify, and distribute donation receipts.
  • Help customers unload donations from their vehicle and load/unload goods.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety policies.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks or stacking carts as needed.
  • Follow Goodwill policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Donation Attendant

Reports To:General Manager

Status: Full- time/or PTNon-Exempt

Department: Retail

Summary:

Cheerfully and courteously greet customers and donors. Receive, verify, and distribute donation receipts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the Mission of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas on a daily basis: "Goodwill is a local non-profit helping people overcome challenges, find jobs & grow careers."
  • Demonstrate the Core Four in all interactions: "Be Honest, Be on Time, Work Hard and Be Respectful of Others."
  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
  • Cheerfully greet all customers and donors.
  • Present a friendly, cooperative attitude to general- public, at all times.
  • Receive donations, thank the donor, and distribute donation receipts to every donor.
  • Help customers unload donations from their vehicle.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • To minimize damage to goods, take care to load and unload trucks in a safe and careful manner.
  • Unload all goods from Goodwill truck at donation site. Store all goods in an orderly manner in areas designated by Director of Retail or General Manager
  • Report any, and all incidents or accidents as soon as possible to supervisor.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene, and personal appearance, at, all, times.
  • Safely and efficiently use manual pallet jacks or stacking carts to transport.
  • Follow proper procedures for cardboard and waste disposal, safely using equipment such as balers and compactors.
  • Understand the safety requirements for your job and follow agencies Safety Policies and Rules and Regulations.
  • Adhere to all Goodwill policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by supervisor.
