Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, in partnership with Venafi, seeks a seasoned NGTS Management & Trust Domain Consultant to drive enterprise cryptography initiatives. You will lead technical discovery, craft tailored demos, and manage PoCs to validate security architectures across TLS/SSL, PKI, and cloud-native environments.

You will collaborate with Sales and CISOs, guiding security best practices and ensuring technical credibility throughout complex deals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solution Architect, or Technical Consultant in enterprise cybersecurity software.
  • Deep understanding of cryptography fundamentals, PKI, TLS/SSL, SSH keys, X.509 certificates, HSMs and Post Quantum Computing concerns.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies: Windows, Linux/Unix, Active Directory/LDAP, MS-SQL, load balancers, and web servers.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge and use of container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) and orchestration toolsets.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD and automation tools such as HashiCorp Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Salt, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Proven adaptive problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong persuasive abilities to educate both technical teams and C-level executive audiences on complex security risks.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Technical Wins: Take ultimate responsibility for the technical success of assigned accounts. Educate and influence technical stakeholders to achieve the 'technical win' across complex sales cycles.
  • Solution Architecture & Discovery: Lead technical discovery to align customer business objectives with NGTS architecture. Design and present custom demonstrations and solutions.
  • Proof of Concept/Proof of Value (PoC/PoV): Plan, execute, and manage hands-on product integrations and PoCs in enterprise sandbox and customer environments.
  • Strategic Advisory: Establish technical trust with CISOs, Security Architects, PKI teams, and DevOps leads, providing expert guidance on IT security best practices for machine identities and certificate lifecycle management.
  • RFP/RFI Leadership: Coordinate and complete high-quality, accurate technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and security assessments.
  • Voice of the Customer: Provide direct feedback from the field to internal Product Management, R&D, and Marketing teams to shape product enhancements and go-to-market strategies.

Job Summary
NGTS Management & Trust Domain Consultant
Venafi—now part of Palo Alto Networks—is the inventor of technology that secures machine identities and the #1 provider of certificate lifecycle management for the Global 5000. We are looking for a high-performing Solution Architect / Sales Engineer to join our team of global specialists.
In this role, you will be the technical authority for Machine Identity Management and Trust, partnering with Sales Account Executives to drive complex enterprise deals, lead discovery, execute technical evaluations, and demonstrate how Palo Alto Networks delivers core security value across TLS/SSL, SSH, PKI, cloud-native workloads, and container environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud & DevOps Capabilities:

  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD and automation tools such as HashiCorp Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Salt, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Sales & Communication Acumen:
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Proven adaptive problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong persuasive abilities to educate both technical teams and C-level executive audiences on complex security risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to discover and prioritize technical needs and navigate interdependencies to eliminate sales obstacles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience deploying, administering, or operating the Venafi or CyberArk Trust Protection Platform (TPP) or CyberArk CM SaaS, or a competitive solution (i.e. KeyFactor or AppViewX).
  • CISSP, CISM, or relevant AWS/Azure/Kubernetes (CKA) technical certifications.
  • Prior experience with Palo Alto Networks Next Gen Firewalls, Panorama, or Strata Cloud Manager is a plus.
  • Experience with development and scripting tools. (i.e. PowerShell, javascript, perl, Python, Go, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with AI tools. (Claude, Copilot, Gemini, etc.)

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
