Just Happy Dogs is a cage-free, insured and bonded pet care company based in Peekskill, NY. We’re Fear Free certified and members of NAPPS, dedicated to making every dog feel safe, happy, and loved.

We’re seeking a reliable dog walker to provide caring walks across Westchester and surrounding counties. You’ll conduct solo or small-group walks, update owners with GPS-tracked reports and photos, and follow each dog's needs with safety and clear communication at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Genuine love for dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
• Experience handling dogs, especially outdoors/on-leash.
• Calm, patient demeanor with reactive/anxious dogs.
• Reliable transportation within service areas.
• Smartphone with walk-tracking and communication apps.
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.
• Physical fitness to be on your feet in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct solo or small-group walks (max 4 dogs).
• Provide GPS-tracked walk updates and post-walk photos for owners.
• Adhere to each dog's individual needs, preferences, and notes.
• Handle dogs with patience and calm, especially anxious or reactive dogs.
• Communicate clearly with owner/team before, during, and after walks.
• Maintain safety at all times—leash control and traffic awareness.

As a Dog Walker with Just Happy Dogs, you'll provide reliable, caring walks for our clients' dogs in their neighborhoods across Westchester and surrounding counties. You'll be a trusted extension of our small, values-driven team - someone dogs look forward to seeing and owners feel completely comfortable with.

What We're Looking For

• Genuine love for dogs - all sizes, breeds, and temperaments


• Experience handling dogs, especially in outdoor/on-leash environments


• Calm, patient demeanor - our clients include reactive and anxious dogs


• Reliable transportation within our service areas
  
• Smartphone with the ability to use walk-tracking and communication apps

• Physical fitness - you'll be on your feet, rain or shine

Bonus Points

• Fear Free or positive reinforcement training knowledge


• Pet first aid certification (or willingness to get one)


• Experience with reactive dogs or dogs with behavioral needs
