Tender Care Animal Hospital in Peoria, IL seeks an enthusiastic Dog Trainer to join our team. Our program uses positive reinforcement, confidence building, and practical life skills for puppies and adult dogs in a collaborative environment.

You will lead puppy and basic obedience classes, educate owners on training techniques, and work with our veterinary team to support pet wellness while building lasting client relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional dog training experience.
• Strong knowledge of positive reinforcement and fear-free training techniques.
• Experience teaching group puppy or obedience classes.
• CPDT-KA or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead puppy and basic obedience classes using positive reinforcement methods.
• Educate pet owners on training techniques, behavior, and communication.
• Create a safe, engaging learning environment for dogs and handlers.
