A local dog care service is seeking a Dog Sitter in Austin. This flexible, self-employed role allows you to set your own hours while visiting client homes for dog care. Qualifications

Overview

Dog Sitter role at The Comforted Canine. This is a flexible, self-employed position in the Austin metro area. You set your own hours, service area, and when you want to work.

Responsibilities

• Visit dogs in client homes for drop-in visits (30, 45, or 60 minutes) or dog walks (30, 60, or 90 minutes; private or group). Meet clients and their dogs in person for a meet-and-greet; follow the client’s care routine and contingency plans; provide care as directed; and send daily visit updates through the company app.
• Perform tasks during sittings: feeding, refreshing water, cleaning bowls, scooping litter, administering medications if needed, socializing with the dog, and leaving the home in good condition.
• Provide light housekeeping as required (e.g., watering plants, collecting mail, taking out trash) and keep clients informed with updates and photos.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 18 years old
• Experience caring for dogs (professional experience is a plus but not required)
• Ability to walk, run, bend, and reach for extended periods; capable of handling dogs of various sizes
• Smartphone with internet access, texting, and camera
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide references
• Compassion, patience, reliability, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage client schedules and keys; handle emergencies; and work in a physically and mentally demanding environment
• Certification in pet first aid/CPR or experience administering medications
• Calm, reliable, and consistent with dogs
• Availability during peak times, especially winter holidays
