Job summary

The Comforted Canine in Antioch, CA is seeking reliable dog lovers to provide in-home dog sitting visits and walking while clients are away. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor role where you set availability and service area; we match you with clients.

You’ll feed, walk, monitor behavior, send updates and photos through our app, and follow care instructions. Pay starts around $25 per 30-minute visit, with higher rates for longer visits, overnight care, and house sitting.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for dogs, especially in a pet-sitting setting.
• Confident handling of small to large dogs.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented in scheduling and visits.
• Strong written communication for updates and notes.
• Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes.
• Smartphone with reliable internet and camera for updates.
• Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids) where applicable.
• Availability on holidays and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home dog sitting visits and dog walking.
• Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
• Send visit updates and photos through the app.
• Feed dogs and refresh water, clean up waste, provide playtime.
• Bring in mail or packages, adjust lights/blinds as needed.
• Administer medication within your experience and comfort level.
• Handle service types: walks, drop-ins, extended daytime visits, overnights, 24-hour care.

Professional Dog Sitter & Dog Walker— Antioch, CA Area

Do you love dogs and enjoy working independently? The Comforted Canine is looking for reliable, responsible dog lovers to provide in-home dog sitting visits and dog walking while clients are away.

This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position where you set your availability and service area, and we match you with clients. It’s a great fit if you want meaningful, independent work caring for dogs, helping pet parents travel with peace of mind, and building trust with repeat clients.

What You’ll Do

Dog sitting visits may include:

• Feeding dogs and refreshing water
• Cleaning up waste
• Giving playtime, affection, or companionship based on each dog's personality
• Sending visit updates and photos through our app
• Following each client’s detailed care instructions
• Bringing in mail or packages
• Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
• Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level

Service Types

• Walks: 30-90 minutes (1-3x daily)
• Drop-ins: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1–3x daily)
• Extended daytime visits: 2-8 hours
• Overnights: 10-hour stays
• 24-hour care: live-in with overnight care
