Job summary

The City of Foley is seeking a Kennel Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and humane environment for dogs at the municipal holding facility. You will perform daily sanitation, provide food and exercise, and monitor animal health and behavior.

Responsibilities include assisting with intake, handling animals humanely, logging data in shelter software, and supporting staff and officers. A High School diploma or GED is required; prior animal-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals in a kennel, shelter, veterinary clinic, or related setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and common areas daily.
• Maintain accurate logs of animal health, food intake, and kennel assignments.
• Provide food, water, exercise, and enrichment for dogs; observe health and behavior.
• Assist Animal Control Officers with intake and handling of dogs.
• Assist in laundry, facility organization, stocking, and basic grounds keeping.
