Job summary

Morris Animal Inn is a family-owned, award-winning pet resort located in North New Jersey. We are hiring a Part-Time Dog Daycare Counselor at our Montville facility to supervise dogs, support enrichment activities, and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Two shifts are available: 6:30AM-1PM or 1PM-7PM, with some weekend/holiday availability. Starting pay is $16.00-$17.00 per hour based on experience, for 15-20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Ability to confidently manage dogs of all breeds and sizes.
• Basic reading and writing in English for documentation and safety procedures.
• Prior experience in dog daycare or boarding is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage in playful group and individual activities for dogs.
• Monitor dog behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Assist in crafting unique dog enrichment plans.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all pet and work areas.
• Provide daily updates to pet parents, fostering strong relationships.

We are now hiring Part-Time Dog Daycare Counselors at our Montville facility.

Schedule: This is a part-time position averaging 15-20 hours per week. There are two shifts available; 6:30AM-1PM or 1PM-7PM. Some weekend and holiday availability is also required.

Pay: Starting rate is $16.00-$17.00/hour based on prior professional pet care experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must love and be able to confidently handle dogs of all breeds and sizes; from the teacup type to the 'are you sure that's not a horse?' and everything in between
• A basic understanding of dog behavior and body language
• Prior experience in dog daycare or boarding facility (preferred, but not required)
• Ability to read and write in English (for documentation, communication, and safety procedures)
• Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Availability for weekend and holiday shifts (essential as we care for dogs 365 days a year!).
