Ready to jump into a job where tail wags, play groups, and puppy friendships fill your day? We are seeking a Full‑Time Dog Daycare Attendant to supervise pack play sessions, promoting positive interactions and keeping every tail wagging safely!

Our Pet Resort is part of National Veterinary Associates (“NVA”), a network of over 1,000 veterinary hospitals and pet resorts. The pet‑resort industry is growing rapidly, and NVA provides dedicated resources to support our teams.
Position Overview:
The Dog Daycare Attendant ensures each dog enjoys a fun, safe, and enriching experience while attending our facility’s daycare program. In this hands‑on role, you’ll supervise group play sessions, monitor dog interactions, and maintain a positive, enthusiastic presence for pets, pet parents, and the team.
You’ll use your understanding of dog behavior and pack dynamics to guide safe play and ensure every pup goes home happy and healthy.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each guest is treated with respect and dignity.
- Provide appropriate amounts of water in the group play setting.
- Clean up dog waste, vomit, and any other mess several times throughout your shift.
- Walk dogs on a leash to and from outside exercise areas.
- Supervise activities of multiple dogs throughout the day.
- Monitor closely for any potential conflicts or escalations and redirect or remove dogs as needed.
- Maintain a sanitary environment by following cleaning and disinfecting standards.
- Monitor guests’ health and report any ill or injured pets to a Leader or Manager immediately.
- Communicate with pet parents on a regular basis—notes, reminders, concerns, daily pet activities, and special offerings.
- Dispose of and clean up any stool and urine in play areas.
- Chart playtime interactions to monitor guests’ reactions and general demeanor.
- Follow all safety standards with regard to handling guests.
- Immediately alert front staff and resort manager when a guest is ill or exhibiting odd behavior—follow‑up by filling out an illness form and turning it to a shift lead/manager.
- Notify the manager of any safety or operational issues (e.g., broken guillotine doors, burnt‑out lights, insufficient salt for snowy areas).
- Keep informed of important notices and meetings via the Guest Services Command Center.
- Consult with other departments as needed.
Qualifications and Team Qualities:
- Passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of safe and gentle animal handling; no aggressive or aversive techniques.
- Customer‑service oriented—ability to respond promptly to customer needs and build trust.
- Strong communication skills with clients, both written and oral.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp as required.
- Conflict‑resolution skills with tact and diplomacy.
- Team player willing to assist other departments.
- Friendly, positive, and cheerful attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to work independently while following direction.
- Comfortable working in temperature extremes, outdoors, or noisy environments.
- Ability to tolerate close contact with bodily fluids and get dirty.
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and lifting up to 60 lb.
- Other duties as assigned.
