Job summary

Nevada Humane Society is seeking a Dog Team Animal Care Associate to join our Reno Campus team. You’ll provide daily care for animals, support positive outcomes, and help match pets with loving families as part of a mission-driven, high-save organization.

You will work with the Animal Care Manager to ensure compassionate care, proper health monitoring, and thorough documentation, while promoting our lifesaving programs and community outreach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Physically able to walk and stand for long periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must have a valid Nevada or California Driver’s license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to all animals.
• Assist intake and movement of animals through evaluations and designated pathways.
• Administer vaccinations and medications; assist with surgery prep and recovery.
• Monitor animal health and behavior; report illness and follow emergency protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including records, photos and adoption profiles.
• Support adopters and communicate with fosters for timely placements.
• Transport animals to appointments, events, and partner organizations.
