Job summary

Akoya seeks a Writer in Washington, DC to support the DOE through clear, accurate content across web, reports, memos, and publications. You will translate technical policy into plain language for general audiences, working with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and alignment with priorities.

This full-time, onsite role reports to a contract manager in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have strong writing/editing skills, AP style proficiency, and experience delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications or related field.
• 7+ years of professional writing/editing/communications experience.
• Experience translating technical content into plain language.

Responsibilities

• Research, draft, and edit web content, fact sheets, reports and memos for the client.
• Write and edit news releases, descriptions, guides, and technical publications.
• Translate complex content into plain language for general audiences.
• Collaborate with SMEs and program offices to gather information and ensure accuracy.
• Draft speeches, talking points, and presentations for leaders.
• Edit reports and press releases for voice and consistency.
• Prepare summaries of conferences and events for distribution.
• Support publication development across multiple contributors.
