Job summary

APTIM Federal Services, LLC is seeking a Truck Driver intern under the DoD SkillBridge program in Jackson, CA. Under supervision, you will assist with soil excavation activities, loading trucks, transporting soil to stockpile or disposal, and assisting with site restoration tasks.

This internship pays at the federal prevailing wage, with a base wage around $35 per hour after internship. You must be an active-duty service member eligible for SkillBridge and willing to work five days a week in

Qualifications

• Civil construction and/or environmental work experience.
• Must live within daily commute of Jackson, CA.
• No Felonies.
• Clean driving record with valid license.
• Dependable transportation and cell phone.
• Able to pass drug screen and physical.
• OSHA HAZWOPER.
• Preferred CDL Tank endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Use of Dump trucks (12-15 yd) and Water Trucks (2k).
• Operate trucks in a safe manner in residential communities.
• Work before labor tasks.
• Ability to work in team environment in a safe and productive manner.
• Be safe and professional while working in residential communities.

DoD SkillBridge Internship: Truck Driver

Truck Driver Description

Job Overview: Under direction of Construction Manager, provide support to soil excavation activities including loading trucks and transport soil for stockpile/disposal, then transport backfill for site restoration and revegetation. May be required to assist in general labor duties. Truck Drivers will be paid federal prevailing wage for work performed.

Project Description: Residential remedial excavation and backfill of 40 properties, metals contaminated soils. IF HIRED AFTER INTERNSHIP: The base company wage for the CDL Truck Driver position is $35.00 per hour. However, for this project, the CDL Truck Driver position will be paid the Federal prevailing wage for work performed.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $35 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
