Job summary

TeamWorx Security is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist or System's Administrator to support enterprise information systems in an on-site role based in Columbia, MD. The position targets military personnel eligible for SkillBridge and requires a commitment to security-focused operations, vulnerability discovery, and remediation.

Responsibilities include system design support, device/account troubleshooting, OS administration across Windows/Linux/MacOS, server config, backups, and ongoing risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in cybersecurity and/or system administration.
• Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Experience in system backup/restore, tuning, user administration, software/hardware installation and maintenance, file management, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS).
• Experience monitoring networks/devices for unusual activity, implementing defensive protocols, and reporting incidents.
• Experience maintaining documentation of security guidelines, procedures, standards, and controls.
• US citizenship is required.

• Support setup, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting of employee devices/accounts.
• Perform system maintenance, installation configuration, and support certification and accreditation activities.
• Support operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
• Administer user accounts, perform server configuration, and network management.
• Install software, backups, configuration management, and general system maintenance.
• Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis and write systems status reports regularly.
• Monitor constantly for attacks and run appropriate defensive protocols if a breach occurs.
• Conduct testing to identify vulnerabilities and collaborate with cybersecurity team members to update defensive protocols when necessary.
• Configure antivirus systems, firewalls, and software updates with a security-first mindset.
• Help lead employee training to prevent phishing and other forms of cyberattack.

Location: On-Site in Columbia, MD

Position Type: Full-Time

**This position is for active duty military members only who meet the requirements outlined below**

SkillBridge Eligibility

• Have 180 days of military service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
• Obtain approval from your unit commander.
• Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.

The Opportunity

TeamWorx Security is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist or System's Administrator to support enterprise Information systems. We require a person who is both technically proficient and creative. You will assist in discovering vulnerabilities and risks in networks, software systems and Cloud infrastructure with ongoing vulnerability scans, monitoring network data, and ensuring hardware and software applications are patched and remediated.
