Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a DOD SkillBridge Electronics Engineer or Principal Electronics Engineer – Comms/Networks Engineer to join the Avionics Integration Organization in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Relocation & Clearance

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 25% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems, including RF datalinks, SATCOM, and communications networks.
• Report communications status to IPT Management.
• Support team on complex communications subsystems and integration support.

Eligibility

The role can be filled by DOD SkillBridge eligible candidates at the Electronics Engineer (level 2) or Principal Electronics Engineer (level 3) levels.

Basic Qualifications (Electronics Engineer – Level 2)

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and no years of related engineering experience.

Basic Qualifications (Principal Electronics Engineer – Level 3)

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR 1 year with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Strong understanding of networking strategies including TCP/IP & WAN architectures.
• Familiarity with current network products and technologies such as routers, firewalls, switches.
• RF and digital system design & analysis; antenna theory and operation.
• Communications integration and testing experience with Iridium, INMARSAT, Ku, CDL, and Starlink.
• Airborne platform radio integration experience such as ARCs.
• System Performance Verification and Component Qualification for Flight System Engineering.
• Requirements derivation, design documentation (Visio, CATIA), interconnects and rack elevations.

Salary Range

Primary Level (Level 2): $91,800.00 - $137,600.00.
Secondary Level (Level 3): $114,000.00 - $171,000.00.
