Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a journeyman-level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to improve the availability, performance, security, and operational resilience of mission-critical systems in a Department of Defense environment. The SRE will combine systems administration, software engineering, automation, and operational support practices to build reliable and scalable services.

Qualifications

Journeyman-level SRE experience or equivalent in DevSecOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations.
Experience administering Linux and/or Windows servers.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, etc.).
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and incident response.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain mission-critical applications, services, and infrastructure.
Develop and maintain service-level indicators and reliability metrics.
Build dashboards, alerts, and health checks for availability, performance, and security.
Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement fixes.
Automate deployment, configuration, and routine admin tasks.
