Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a GIS Cartographer to support US Air Force OTTI efforts at the Pentagon. The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, a Bachelor’s degree, and 10 years of cartography/GIS experience.

You will maintain geospatial databases and produce high‑quality maps for AF/A35E with strong QA/QC oversight. Candidates should be proficient in ArcGIS and related tools, have knowledge of airspace data, and be willing to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in cartography and GIS.
• Experience with AF OTTI elements, airspace, and ranges.
• Ability to access and work at the Pentagon and coordinate with AF/HAF.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and related tools (ArcGIS Pro, 3D Spatial Extensions, Map Publisher, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Conduct cartographic requests to support AF/A35E OTTI efforts.
• Maintain geographic databases: shapefiles, rasters, vectors, imagery, and related files.
• Ensure maps are designed accurately and meet QA/QC standards.
• Apply cartographic standardization, best practices, and SOPs.
• Analyze and write standard operating procedures for cartographic tasks.
• Provide ad hoc map creation and design support as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in geospatial field

Master’s degree in geospatial science (desirable)
