Job summary

SOSi seeks a Data Lake Engineer to design, implement, and sustain scalable data lake architectures for a DoD client. You will orchestrate data ingestion, governance, and analytics across structured and unstructured data, enabling real-time sharing and interoperability.

Responsibilities include configuring a data lake to knowledge graph interfaces, ensuring security compliance, and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines with Delta Lake. Collaboration across teams is essential for mission-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in CS/IT/Engineering or related field, or 11+ years of complex data projects experience.
• Experience managing enterprise data architecture, Databricks administration, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Proficiency with Data Lake administration, workspace management, and Unity Catalog integration.
• Strong ETL/ELT development, Delta Lake optimization, and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Data Lake architectures for structured and unstructured data.
• Configure integration between Data Lake and knowledge graph (Stardog) with SPARQL endpoints.
• Follow and document access policies; report quarterly in Data Governance & Compliance.
• Optimize ETL pipelines for high-volume data; ensure DoD IL-4/IL-5 security standards.
• Implement storage tiering and access controls per DoD governance requirements.
• Submit Data Lake Performance & Optimization Report detailing ingestion, access control, storage metrics.
