Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer or Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support mission-critical software and technology initiatives within a secure Department of Defense environment in Redondo Beach, CA. This role combines cybersecurity engineering, systems administration, hardware/software integration, and IT material planning to ensure secure, compliant, and operationally ready systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Master's degree in a related field.
Principal: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 3+ years.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and assess cybersecurity controls per NIST, RMF, and DoD requirements.
Support authorization activities, including ATO and IATT.
Partner with ISSMs, ISSOs, and engineers to maintain secure environments across the lifecycle.
Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows-based systems.
Implement DoD STIG compliance across infrastructure and applications.
Coordinate hardware/software integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with software teams within Agile development environments.
Develop and maintain IT BOM requirements for programs and proposals.
Coordinate procurement with supply chain and program stakeholders.
