Job summary

The JAAW Group LLC is seeking a Cyber Analyst to support secure, mission-critical Department of Defense systems at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The role focuses on continuous security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and threat hunting across classified government environments.

Responsibilities include monitoring Splunk, triage of alerts, proactive threat hunting, and supporting vulnerability management and STIG compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity or related field.
  • 2–5 years in security monitoring, SOC/NOC, or cyber defense.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk preferred).
  • Familiarity with STIG tools and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor SIEM platforms for security events and anomalies.
  • Triage and investigate alerts; escalate incidents per procedures.
  • Perform proactive threat hunting to identify IOCs.
  • Support incident handling, remediation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with security engineers and ISSOs on reporting and remediation.
  • Assist with vulnerability scanning using Nessus and ACAS.
  • Contribute to POA&Ms and maintain detection playbooks.
