Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for our Linthicum, MD office to support a DoD customer. The role involves planning, building, and managing cybersecurity for cloud deployments, ensuring DoD-compliant design, configuration, data controls, logging, and architecture.

You will help deploy tooling to scan and remediate vulnerabilities within production CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with architecture teams to harden cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in cybersecurity principles and technologies (firewalls, IDS, SIEMs).
• Knowledge of RMF and STIGs.
• Knowledge of the Authorization to Operation (ATO) process and Continuous ATO with required documentation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of cloud networking, storage, and architecture.
• Experience with cloud observability toolsets.
• Experience with AWS cloud migration.
• Understanding of version control systems (Git).

Responsibilities

• Plan, build and manage cybersecurity for a federal cloud environment.
• Ensure cloud design/configuration aligns with DoD regulations and proper hardening.
• Configure and build tooling to scan/remediate vulnerabilities in CI/CD pipelines.
