Job summary

SPS is seeking a Scanning Operator for a temporary, year-end project in New York. You will assist with preparation, scanning, indexing, and records management to support a major document digitization initiative tied to an office relocation.

The role involves high-volume scanning, data entry, and strict confidentiality. The position requires attention to detail, ability to perform repetitive tasks, and basic Microsoft Office skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Able to learn document management systems and site procedures.
  • Must follow onsite security policies, including restrictions on phones and imaging devices on active work floors.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume document scanning and imaging.
  • Prepare, sort, and scan documents using high-speed equipment.
  • Index records and re-scan documents when needed.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Re-file and re-box records after processing.
  • Receive, sort, and organize documents, mail, and boxes.
  • Prepare documents for scanning, filing, and archiving.
  • Read file numbers, labels, and handwritten information for identification.
  • Support records storage, retrieval, and outgoing shipments.
  • Perform data entry while meeting productivity goals.
  • Follow confidentiality and document security procedures.
  • Assist with additional operational tasks as needed.

Support a Major Document Digitization Project

This opportunity supports a large-scale document digitization initiative tied to an office relocation project through the end of the year.

If you enjoy structured work, repetitive tasks, and working behind the scenes to keep operations moving, this role is for you. As a Scanning Operator, you’ll support document preparation, scanning, indexing, and records management activities while helping preserve important business records.

Document Processing & Scanning
  • Perform high-volume document scanning and imaging
  • Prepare, sort, and scan documents using high-speed equipment

What You Bring

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move boxes/packages up to 40-60 lbs. using appropriate equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity required for operating scanners and office equipment

Travel: None or Negligible

Other Duties: Responsibilities may change based on operational needs.

Compensation: The expected compensation is an estimate, and the final offer will depend on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.

Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Pay Range: $20 - $21 USD.
