Job summary

Rigid Tactical Careers is seeking an experienced Doctrine Writer to join a collaborative team of subject matter experts evaluating, updating, and shaping maritime doctrine and tactics. You will assess currency and relevance across EXW, CON, ATFP, and IW programs, contributing toNTTPs and TACMEMOs while supporting the operational framework of naval forces.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of hands-on Navy Expeditionary Force and maritime operations experience.
  • Direct participation in real-world operations/deployments with Navy Fleet/USMC/coalition.
  • Minimum of three years reviewing and writing Joint or Service-level doctrine for expeditionary/maritime ops.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate complex operational material with analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Draft, review, and provide detailed comments on Navy Expeditionary-related doctrine, publications, and documents.
  • Draft, develop, and update NTTPs and TACMEMOs as required.
  • Maintain lists of NWDC Navy Expeditionary-related publications needing updates.
  • Create POA&Ms aligned to production timelines for each publication.
  • Prepare and maintain Comment Resolution Matrixes (CRMs) to track stakeholder feedback and finalize documents.

Rigid Tactical is seeking an experienced Doctrine Writer to join a collaborative team of subject matter experts analyzing, evaluating, and evolving tactical publications. In this role, you will evaluate the currency, accuracy, and relevance of Expeditionary Warfare (EXW), Construction (CON), Anti‑Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP), and Irregular Warfare (IW) doctrine and tactics. This position provides an opportunity to work with a dynamic team on cutting‑edge programs that offer tremendous career growth while directly shaping the operational framework of our nation's maritime forces.

  • Salary Band: $70-80K with benefits
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum of ten (10) or more years of hands‑on experience within the Navy Expeditionary Force and maritime operations.
  • Direct, proven participation in real‑world operations/deployments and relevant Fleet, USMC, and/or coalition/combined operations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated knowledge reviewing and writing Joint or Service‑level doctrine specifically tailored to expeditionary and maritime operations.
  • In‑depth, functional knowledge of Expeditionary Warfare (EXW), Construction (CON), and Force Protection (FP) tactics, operations, and associated platform employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in science, engineering, management, or a closely relevant technical field.
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent analytical problem‑solving skills to evaluate complex operational material.
  • Superior oral and written communication capabilities, with a high proficiency in technical drafting and professional collaboration.
  • Review NEXWDC publications and existing doctrine to isolate and identify gaps across Navy Expeditionary‑related mission areas.
  • Review and provide comprehensive, highly detailed comments on Navy Expeditionary‑related doctrine, publications, and technical documents.
  • Draft, develop, and update vital service‑level publications, including Naval Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (NTTPs) and Tactical Memorandums (TACMEMOs).
  • Maintain and compile lists of targeted NWDC Navy Expeditionary‑related publications and doctrine requiring scheduled updates or revisions.
  • Prepare and maintain Comment Resolution Matrixes (CRMs) to track and implement stakeholder feedback on publication reviews. Finalize documents that have undergone multiple rounds of collaborative evaluation.
  • Develop tailored Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) aligned to specific production timelines for each individual publication and document.
  • Develop clear, professional technical graphics and visual aids to support textual concepts (highly desired).
