Job summary

EyeCare Partners Doctors in the United States seeks an Optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose eye diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses. You will collect patient histories and provide vision care with a focus on early detection of ocular conditions.

The role requires Doctor of Optometry, Ohio license, NBEO certification, and residency in ocular fields is preferred. You will work in a clinical setting providing patient-centered eye health services and referrals when needed.

Job description

Optometrist – Perform thorough vision tests to assess refractive errors, visual acuity, and eye health using specialized equipment; Identify and diagnose eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other vision problems; Write prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses based on patient needs; Advise patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, sun protection, and early detection of eye diseases; Collect information about a patient’s medical history to identify potential eye-related concerns; Perform minor surgical procedures like removing foreign objects from the eye(depending on state regulations); Refer patients to ophthalmologists for more complex eye conditions requiring surgery; Provide vision therapy for patients with specific visual issues; Maintain accurate and detailed patient records including diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescriptions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Doctor of Optometry or foreign equivalent.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid OHIO Optometry License;
• Certification with National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO);
• Completion of residency in Optometry, Ocular Disease, or related Ocular field.
