Old Dominion Freight Line in Morrisville, NC is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to join the OD Family. This role focuses on the safe loading and unloading of freight and supports overall warehouse operations to help deliver customer freight accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, committed to safety, and capable of using forklifts and yard management systems while adhering to DOT guidelines. A strong work ethic and team orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience with safe lifting and transporting procedures.
• Knowledge of loading techniques such as tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with freight movement forms (shipping orders, manifests, bills).
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using yard management systems.
• Must be available to meet customer pickup/delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts or manual methods in line with DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight across the service center.
• Monitor freight locations with Yard Management System.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms as needed.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers and maintain safety standards.
