Job summary

Roadtex Transportation, now part of Echo Global Logistics, is seeking a forklift driver to support our warehouse operations. You will inspect equipment, load and unload materials, maintain inventory records, and keep the work area clean and safe.

This role requires independent work and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include at least 3 months forklift experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass internal forklift certification.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
• Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Loading and unloading materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
• Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies to management.
• Ensuring that the forklift is always operated in a safe and responsible manner
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Reporting any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed

Position Overview

To perform this job, a forklift driver must be familiar with the forklift's controls and capabilities. They should also have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and have good communication skills. Additionally, physical strength and stamina may be required as the job may involve lifting and moving heavy materials and goods.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear
• The employee may frequently stand on their feet
• The employee is regularly required to lift and move up to 50lbs. Occasionally the employee may need to lift up to 65lbs, – should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift
• The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body – bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching
