Responsibilities

  • Arrive 15 minutes before shift change to discuss status and issues.
  • Wear SFPS uniform and safety equipment at all times.
  • Operate company vehicles as necessary.
  • Assist PIC and set up manifold system for transfers.
  • Ensure sorbent placement in dock drains prior to transfers.
  • Assist in security duties: monitor visitors/vehicles and log entries.
  • Conduct dock walks every 20 minutes and radio checks every 30 minutes.
  • Maintain proper placement of flex booms and secure after transfers.
  • Assist in additive injection operations.
  • Perform general maintenance (painting, cleaning) as per checklist.
  • Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or repairs needed.
  • Keep dock area clean and safe; secure tools and equipment.

Dockman-CL-B (Finance)

The Dockman is responsible for assisting the PIC with safe transfer of product from the vessel to the terminal, terminal to terminal transfers, additive injections, and dockside security. South Florida Petroleum Services, LLC. Employees are to carry out their duties in a professional manner and always adhere to company guidelines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive at work site 15 minutes before shift change to discuss watch relief, vessel or transfer status, manifold alignment, and any other pertinent issues.
  • Wear the proper SFPS supplied uniform and issued safety equipment at all times when on the job.
  • Be eligible to operate company vehicles as necessary.
  • Dockman is to always assist the PIC when requested. The PIC oversees the docks.
  • Assist PIC in properly setting up manifold system and/or hoses for product offload/transfer.
  • Ensure that sorbent has been properly placed in dock drains prior to transfer operations.
  • Assist PIC with all security issues including:
    • Inform PIC of any breeches in security or activity out of the normal.
    • Ensure the gates are locked at all times .
    • Maintain a proper security watch and log ALL visitors and vehicles in the security log.
    • Conduct proper screening of visitors and vehicles on to the facility and ensure gates are always locked per SFPS Security Plan.
  • Conduct radio checks each ½ hour during dock operations per PIC direction.
  • Conduct a dock walk for security and operational monitoring every 20 minutes.
  • Monitor manifold pressure during operational periods while on dock walks.
  • Maintain proper placement of flex booms between vessel and shore and monitor during periodic dock walks. Boom is to be removed and secured on completion of transfer operations.
  • Assist PIC in additive injection operations.
  • Perform general maintenance to include painting, cleaning, weed eating, greasing valves, etc. per the daily/weekly maintenance checklist.
  • Notify PIC or dock Foreman of any unsafe condition or needed repairs.
  • Keep dock area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are accounted for and properly stowed.
  • Assist in remote operations as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in terminal operations preferred. Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills; customer service skills; ability to adjust to multiple demands and priorities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and problem solve while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions; function effectively as part of a team; ability to work under pressure; communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and the public.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, nights, days, weekends, holidays, overtime. Position works 3.5 twelve-hour shifts weekly and rotates sides of the week and days and nights monthly.
