Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC seeks a supervisor to oversee dock operations at our Davenport terminal. You will manage daily dock activities, direct dockworkers, and ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with DOT standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong reading, writing and verbal English for safety, shipping documents, and communications.
• Preferred: 5+ years in warehouse, freight, dock, forklift, or pallet jack operations.
• Preferred: prior supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient dock operations for all terminal staff.
• Direct and evaluate dockworkers to ensure proper equipment use and procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections to maintain compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Train and coach dockworkers on safety, performance, customer service and equipment usage.
• Review operational reports and provide recommendations to improve terminal efficiency.
• Promote and enforce a safe, clean, and organized dock environment.
