Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation is seeking a Dock Key I to support dock operations in Alaska. You will assist with tying vessels, loading/unloading, and maintaining a clean, safe dock environment while following directions from Dock Leads and Forepersons.

At Trident Seafoods, you’ll work in a physically demanding role in a cold, wet environment with exposure to moving machinery. Prior dock operation experience and a forklift certification are preferred; HS diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in dock operation or similar experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates at a skilled level across two or more areas of the dock.
• Assists dock foreperson in essential functions of two or more areas of dock.
• May assist with on-the-line training of new dock workers.
• Ties/unties incoming/departing vessels to moorings.
• Installs/adjusts/removes gangway as needed.
• Deploys/retracts oil boom around vessels as needed.
• Monitors tidal fluctuation and makes necessary line adjustments accordingly.
• Loads and unloads materials or garbage onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and keeps dock free of debris.
• Loads and unloads vessel, using winches, pumps, and other hoisting devices.
