Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional attitude with customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills including Outlook, email, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the receiving, movement, and delivery of products in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the handling and processing of incoming donation flow throughout warehouse operations.
  • Monitor workload and make informed operational decisions to support productivity goals.
  • Ensure dock-related paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with inventory control, transportation, and warehouse processes.
  • Train, coach, and develop new employees on duties, safety, and procedures.
  • Lead by example, promote teamwork, and communicate schedules and priorities.

Lead Warehouse Operations. Drive Results. Make an Impact.

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is seeking a motivated, hardworking, and dependable Dock Lead to help oversee daily warehouse and dock operations at our Orlando facility. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for an experienced warehouse professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is committed to safety, efficiency, and team success.

The Dock Lead plays a critical role in supporting the flow of incoming and outgoing goods, training team members, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring dock operations run smoothly and safely. We are looking for a dedicated leader who can make sound decisions, motivate others, and adapt to changing business demands.

Candidates must have open availability and be willing to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overnight (3rd shift) operations as needed. The ideal candidate must also be willing to travel between warehouse locations throughout Orlando.

Warehouse & Dock Operations
  • Coordinate and manage the receiving, movement, and delivery of products in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the handling and processing of incoming donation flow throughout warehouse operations.
  • Monitor workload and volume levels, making informed operational decisions to support productivity goals.
  • Ensure all dock-related paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with inventory control, transportation, and warehouse processes.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Train, coach, and support new employees on job duties, safety practices, and operational procedures.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Lead by example and help employees achieve performance expectations and operational goals.
  • Communicate schedules, workflow changes, and priorities effectively with team members.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Identify and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment for employees and visitors.
  • Provide recommendations to warehouse leadership regarding workflow improvements, operational priorities, and process efficiencies.
  • Support the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and departmental goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Director of Logistics.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse, dock, transportation, or logistics experience.
  • Prior leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude with customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, email, and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and transportation processes.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Comfortable working around varying weather conditions, dust, noise, equipment, and warehouse-related environmental factors.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts (training provided).

This position requires complete schedule flexibility.
