Job summary

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits in Detroit is seeking a Put-Away Dock Checker to join our warehouse team. This full-time role involves sorting and putting away product, scanning inventory, and supporting returns dock and light janitorial tasks.

The position requires staying active on your feet, ability to lift up to 55 pounds, push/pull up to 100 pounds, and a willingness to learn with Hi-Lo/pallet jack experience preferred. Working Monday–Friday at 8:00 AM, with possible Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Active and on your feet for an entire shift.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 lbs., and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
• Hi-Lo / Pallet Jack experience (preferred - willing to train).

Responsibilities

• Sort and put away product within the warehouse for accuracy and timeliness.
• Scan and store non-damaged products correctly and safely.
• Assist on returns dock and perform light janitorial duties as needed.

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits continues to grow as we seek a Put-Away Dock Checker for our warehouse facilities in Detroit.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Dock Checker is responsible for sorting and putting away product within the warehouse ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. These duties involve scanning and putting away non-damaged products correctly in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties include but not limited to assisting on returns dock and light janitorial as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a warehouse environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration where the noise level can be loud. This role is also very active and must frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop and climb throughout the day while lifting, stacking, moving and rotating with items, without handles, that weigh up to 50 pounds; push/pull carts with up to 100 pounds of force. This position is required to operate warehouse equipment and regularly to read, write and communicate in English.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday starting at 8:00 AM and works until the job is finished. Occasional Saturdays may be required based on holiday schedules and business needs.
