Job summary

The Illinois State Police, Forensic Sciences Command, seeks a statewide Forensic Biology/DNA Program Manager to direct forensic biology and DNA programs, oversee quality assurance, and manage personnel and equipment. You will report to headquarters in Springfield with a hybrid schedule of 3–5 days in the office.

Required: Bachelor's in natural or forensic science (master's preferred), at least three years of forensic science experience at the caseworker level, and advanced DNA casework

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in natural or forensic science; master's preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional forensic science work experience at caseworker level.
  • Advanced knowledge in DNA casework and indexing.
  • Preferred: Five years advanced caseworker level experience with laboratory techniques.
  • Preferred: Two years supervising subordinate staff.
  • Preferred: Experience developing and enforcing forensic laboratory policies and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Directs administration of forensic biology and DNA programs.
  • Manages quality assurance.
  • Reviews research proposals.
  • Oversees personnel and equipment resources.
  • Reports to headquarters in Springfield with a hybrid work schedule 3–5 days in office.
