Job summary

CA CI International in the United States seeks a DNA Examiner II to support exploitation missions. The role involves collecting and analyzing DNA evidence, generating STR profiles, and ensuring proper chain of custody.

Will deploy to CONUS/OCONUS up to 25% travel with adherence to quality and security standards. Required five years in forensic DNA analysis, related degrees, and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; US passport required.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of forensic DNA analysis experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with genetics/biochemistry coursework.
• Master’s may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience identifying bodily fluids and extracting DNA with automated platforms.
• Experience generating STR/Y-STR profiles and mixture interpretation.
• Ability to submit DNA profiles to databases and review case files.
• Eligible to obtain DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. passport and pass medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Examine evidence with firearms and latent print analysts to ensure collection viability.
• Maintain proper chain of custody.
• Collect DNA samples using approved procedures to minimize contamination.
• Capture images of evidence with photographic equipment for analysis.
• Generate STR DNA profiles from evidence and reference samples.
• Analyze data using probabilistic genotyping software.
• Annotate case files and generate processing/ examination reports.
• Perform administrative or technical reviews of reports/ worksheets.
• Perform instrument maintenance.
