Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, Alabama seeks a data management engineer to support PLM development, DMU integration, and digital engineering workflows for aircraft programs, including the A220 family.

You will handle CAD data provisioning (Enovia, CATIA V5), light-viewer conversions, and DMU QA to align with Airbus ways of working. The role uses Python scripting, Google Workspace automation, and AI toolsets to streamline data flows, automate tasks, and integrate tools across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Design, Product Design, or Sustainable Technology.
• 3 to 5 years total experience.
• US citizenship is required.
• Strong proficiency using Google Workspace / G Suite.
• Strong 3D CAD software experience (CATIA V5).
• Ability to write reports, specifications, work statements, requirements, and other technical documents.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and technical writing skills.
• Ability to present information and answer questions related to produced documentation.
• 3D CAD Systems: Hands-on experience with CATIA V5.
• Productivity & Collaboration Suites: Proficiency in Google Workspace / G Suite and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support the AS-IS Business Architecture testing within the PLM system and identify modifications for Airbus Ways of Working.
• Assist in testing key capabilities across 3Dx SaaS, CAD Modeler Coexistence, and DMU maturity on release processes.
• Gather inputs and organize technical data for HLDD and gate preparations.
• DMU Data Provisioning & Conversion: extract design data from Enovia and CATIA V5.
• Prepare and convert CAD datasets into JT, SPS, CGR formats for viewer platforms.
• Execute routine data transfer operations across manual and semi-automated workflows.
• Perform DMU quality checks and support StepX (A220 Stretch).
• Provide entry-level design and setup support for new aircraft variants including A220 Stretch.
• Apply Python to automate repetitive design tasks and generate reports.
