Job summary

Advanced Orthopaedics in Houston, TX is seeking a DME Technician to apply, fit, dispense, and educate patients on durable medical equipment, casts, and splints under physician orders.

You will maintain DME inventory, complete required documentation, and ensure a clean, compliant DME/casting area while upholding HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. This role requires strong communication and physical dexterity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Preferred experience in medical office, orthopedic setting, DME, casting, or patient care.
• Ability to learn and follow physician orders, DME procedures, safety guidelines, and HIPAA policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform related physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Apply and remove casts and splints as ordered by the physician.
• Fit patients with braces, boots, and other DME.
• Provide patient education on proper use of DME.
