Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for abnormal cellular changes. You will participate in referrals for hierarchical review and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in biological science, completion of a Cytology program, and ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification, with possible shifts including evenings.

Qualifications

• Liquid-based morphology certification including ThinPrep, TIS Review Scope, SurePath, and Focal Point.
• Hologic Genius certification is highly desirable but not required.
• Must be able to provide certificates upon request.
• Meet CLIA requirements (CFR.493.1483) and state licensure if applicable.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge:

• Liquid-based morphology certification: ThinPrep, TIS Review Scope, Surepath, and Focal Point.

• Must be able to provide certificates upon request.

Required Experience

• Meet CLIA requirements (CFR.493.1483).
• Meet state licensure requirements, if applicable.
• Meet ASCP requirements for Cytotechnologist
• Graduated from an accredited Cytology program

Special Requirements

• B achelor’s degree in biological science
• Completion of a Cytology program
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification
• Must be willing to work extra days/weekends as dictated by business need.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time as there is minimal job rotation with this position.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
