Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay: $ 2,006.61 (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for a wide variety of recurring and ad-hoc data analysis and research-related tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilizing SPSS and Stata to build complex datasets to specific specifications from multiple JJIS tables.
  • Utilizing SQL Server Studio to extract data from JJIS.
  • GIS mapping and analysis of census data to support research projects utilizing geographic and population characteristics data.
  • Contributing to statutorily required reports including the Comprehensive Accountability Report.
  • Utilization of quasi-experimental research methods and advanced statistical techniques to support and conduct a variety of research tasks involving secondary data.
  • Utilization of knowledge of survey methods to design and analyze surveys.
  • Conducting academic literature reviews, maintaining current knowledge in research on relevant areas including risk assessment, evidence-based practice, and evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply advanced research and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of how to write code effectively to analyze data using statistical software such as Stata, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), or R
  • Knowledge of the Florida Juvenile Justice System and the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inferential statistics and research methods including quasi-experimental designs.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing statistical software.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing GIS software and/or census data.
  • Master's degree from accredited university.
SPECIAL NOTES
