Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a DJJ Certified Medical Assistant at Clayton RYDC in Hampton, GA. This full-time role combines clinical and administrative duties to support providers.

You will triage patients, record vital signs, and prepare them for exams, while maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR. The position requires a high school diploma with two years of experience and one of several medical assisting certifications; EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with two years of relevant experience and one certification.
• Certification in a medical assisting program (AAMA/CCMA/MedCa/NCMA/RMA) preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient triage, take vital signs, and prepare patients for exams.
• Document patient interviews, complaints, and procedures in the EMR.
• Assist with administration of medications and rooming patients as needed.
• Process lab requests, perform venipuncture and routine screenings.
• Assist with admin duties: answering phones, scheduling appointments.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate records.

Educational Requirements

Additional Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years previous experience in a clinical setting and correctional clinical experience. Experience with electronic medical record is preferred.

As part of the facility clinical team, this position is educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment. Provides support to the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other providers as needed. Evaluates and prepares patients to be seen by providers.

Patient triage to include taking vital signs, recording of patient interview/complaints and prepares the patient for exams/ procedures as needed.

Process lab requests to include venipuncture. Performs routine screening tests, EKG's, nebulizer treatments and changing dressings as ordered.

Preparation and administration of medications as prescribed. Notes times and amounts on patient records.

Entering clinical data into the electronic medical record and maintaining accurate and complete documentation in the patient record.

Assists with administrative clerical duties, answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.
