Division Materials Manager

Division Materials Manager will provide leadership of Materials Management activities for the division in support of the Parker WIN Strategy. The role develops and executes lean strategies focused on people, organization, process, and information technology.

Position Summary

The role is responsible for materials management for the division, large site, or multiple value streams. Reporting to the Division Supply Chain Manager, the manager leads the materials management team and coordinates flow of materials from suppliers through order fulfillment. Matrix management responsibilities include planning, logistics, shipping, receiving and inventory functions across business units and support groups.

Responsibilities

Mandate the responsibilities outlined below:

Essential Functions
  • Promote and foster a safe work environment
  • Manage overall strategic planning practices
  • Implement a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control
  • Complete demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure the availability of all materials and products at minimum cost
  • Ensure PFEP & capacity planning activities to support division performance
  • Analyze inventories and develop and execute plans to balance inventory % of sales and optimize customer service
  • Collaborate with business partners to optimize customer experience by utilizing buying and reselling strategies and warehouse management
  • Establish and implement standard re‑order and delivery procedures
  • Balance supply with demand through Sales and Operations Planning with the minimum amount of Parker’s capacity
  • Utilize forecasting tools to create effective demand management processes
  • Employ data analysis and information technology to improve division performance
  • Maintain part data accuracy (item master)
  • Create development plans for materials management team members to ensure a talent pipeline is in place for key functions
Qualifications
  • Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
  • Proficiency in MRP, Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  • Understanding of lean enterprise principles and practices
Education & Experience
  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced degree such as MBA preferred
  • Minimum 6–8 years of applicable experience in materials management, supply chain, or operations
  • Professional certification – APICS or ISM preferred
  • Supply Chain Training Program – such as Parker Executive Development Program preferred
