Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) is recruiting a Division Compliance Manager. IPSD is a global division with engines and gensets that are sustainably manufactured, marketed, sold, and supported under multiple brands. Manufacturing facilities span the globe including Brazil, China, India, UK, and the US. We provide a broad range of products and services to dealers, distributors, and end customers in over 100 countries.

This is a high-visibility leadership role supporting global operations, enterprise compliance expectations, and business growth. The position reports to the Division CFO, and it will directly manage a team of approximately 15 controls and compliance professionals, including multiple leaders. You will manage the division’s internal controls and compliance procedures, provide leadership over our trade compliance, and lead our dealer, distributor, and OEM compliance procedures. You will need to be heavily integrated with the IPSD leadership and all business functions. Partnering with other division and segment compliance managers and enterprise controls and compliance professionals will also be critical to success. We are seeking a controls and compliance leader who can strengthen governance, build trusted partnerships, and support responsible business growth.

What You Will Do:

• Establish effective division compliance programs to help drive a compliance culture, reinforce our Values In Action, and ensure the enterprise is Winning The Right Way.
• Own and continuously improve the division compliance framework.
• Partner with Legal, Trade, Finance, Operations, and commercial teams.
• Drive risk-based prioritization of compliance activities and remediation efforts.
• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
• Prepare leadership updates on key risks and compliance health.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance and ethics initiatives of the division and provide guidance for the management team on matters relating to compliance.

What You Have:

• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
• Audit and Compliance Function: Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environments.
• Internal Controls: Knowledge of concept, methods, and processes of internal control; ability to create, implement, evaluate and enhance processes in internal controls.
• Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
• Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships.
• Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
• Fraud Management: Knowledge of processes and procedures of fraud management; ability to employ internal controls and to enhance business strategies for the purpose of detecting, correcting and preventing fraudulent activities.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Strong controls and compliance background
• Demonstrated ability to directly and indirectly lead a global, cross-functional team
• Executive presence with leadership and/or customers
• Excellent communication skills - able to distill complex compliance matters in a simple way for varied audiences and keep stakeholders informed
• Solid governance skills to ensure projects or issues have clear project plans and action owners, ensuring interim and permanent corrective actions where appropriate.
• Excellent risk awareness and judgement - able to understand consequences of emerging legislation in a complex business and direct focus to where required to maintain compliance
• Ability to effectively develop and train cross-functional professionals
• Experience in trade compliance
• Familiarity with software deployments or trade management / ERP systems.
• Must be intellectually curious with a capability to learn, contextualize and create logical reference frameworks.

Additional information:

• Travel: Potential international and domestic travel up to 25% of time

Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
