Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a District Manager leader to drive sales performance across multiple districts in the San Antonio area. You will develop the area business plan, coach District Managers and Sales Consultants, and ensure alignment with supplier goals and go-to-market strategies.

You will monitor KPIs, lead talent development, and collaborate on complex operational initiatives, pricing discipline, and brand programming in wine/spirits categories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years in a District Manager role, or higher.
  • 4+ years overall sales experience, wine or spirits preferred.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence across levels.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with financial acumen.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with PowerBI, Pocket Advantage, Workday, and JB tools is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass background check and MVR; eligible to work in San Antonio/Austin area.

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the area aligned with company priorities and performance goals.
  • Lead change initiatives across the area, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage, coach, and develop District Managers to ensure effective leadership and execution.
  • Provide direction, supervision, training, evaluation, and development to District Manager teams.
  • Conduct coaching days in the field with District Managers and Sales Consultants.
  • Collaborate on personnel matters and territory alignment; maintain responsibility for area personnel issues and team structure.
  • Establish accountability standards and conduct performance evaluations with development plans and measurable goals.
  • Lead talent planning, recruiting, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Develop and execute the area business plan.
  • Manage portfolio profitability, pricing discipline, inventory, supply, demand, and execution.
  • Monitor KPIs including distribution, depletions, revenue/margin, display/feature compliance, and new-item speed-to-shelf.
  • Ensure routing, workload balance, and operational efficiency across districts.
  • Develop sales plans, quotas, and supplier objectives.
  • Set area and district sales goals and guide District Managers in actionable planning.
  • Review and communicate sales-versus-goal progress.
  • Ensure execution of new-item launches, brand programming, retail placements, and sell-through.
  • Educate and develop staff to improve product knowledge and execution.
  • Present in the market with District Managers and teams to evaluate execution and coach in real time.
  • Build and maintain key supplier relationships and represent the area in business reviews, planning meetings, and market visits.
  • Align supplier goals with area and district plans and manage portfolio priorities.
  • Partner with suppliers, Sales Directors, and internal teams on area-wide go-to-market strategy.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of product
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Must pass criminal background check and MVR
  • Must be eligible to work in the San Antonio/Austin area
