Position Overview

We are looking for a leader to manage the engineering function for the Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division in the Aerospace group. The role will oversee multiple engineering programs and teams, ensuring that group, division, and business unit engineering objectives, contractual requirements, and customer expectations are met. The position reports directly to a division General Manager and includes top-level functional engineering managers and possibly expert-level engineers on staff. The role has global and multi-region product development responsibility and requires frequent interaction with program management, high-level customers, group executives, and technology leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Articulate a compelling vision and provide technology and innovation strategic direction aligned with Parker’s overall business plan and mission.
  • Direct and guide the advancement of state‑of‑the‑art engineering innovations and solutions, influencing multi‑business‑unit and subcontractor development efforts, and overseeing worldwide contracted engineering and analysis support.
  • Maintain influential industry and customer contacts on significant technical issues and business opportunities, attracting new business by promoting Parker technical capabilities.
  • Ensure high coordination and integration with internal or outsourced teams and major customers, protecting intellectual property and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Develop long‑range budget and resource projections to meet multi‑year business and product innovation goals.
  • Provide leadership to ensure successful completion of critical project stages, collaborating with executive leadership and program management, and participating in high‑level customer and product strategy decisions.
  • Determine strategic workforce strategy and assess talent and development plans, building a robust technical leadership pipeline.
  • Communicate and implement actions that reinforce Parker values and company policies, including ethics, integrity and inclusion.
  • Direct and guide the implementation and coordination of processes and programs, such as structured design processes, across multiple functional areas and business units.
  • Assess and determine workforce plans to meet demand, across outsourcing and internal development, reviewing approvals and advising on human resources activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job, typically acquired through 12‑15 years of related experience.
  • Prior leadership of an engineering function of significant scope and technical complexity, including research and investment in the aerospace market.
  • Possesses a diverse technical background and understanding of business management.
  • Thorough understanding of varied products, systems, and technologies represented by Parker, leveraging product innovation across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research and integration of new technologies to achieve organic growth business objectives.
  • Communicates and influences major external customers at the executive level.
  • Advocates innovation and engagement with the larger technical community.
  • Mitigates risks associated with intellectual property loss, managing regulatory compliance.
  • Creates and monitors development plans and assignments to build leadership and engineering pipelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of competitor and industry practices, government regulations, and internal policies.
  • Recognized as an influential business partner with facilitation skills and effective communication to diverse audiences.
  • Produces effective presentations on complex topics for top management, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Serves as a spokesperson or liaison with universities, research institutions, and industry associations, responding to significant inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.
