NYU Langone Health’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery seeks a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist to serve as Division Chief, with rank commensurate to academic level. The role oversees clinical care, education, and research across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island and Bellevue Hospital.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in pediatric otolaryngology academic activities
  • Experience with guiding academic programs and CME initiatives
  • Record of research productivity and external funding is desirable
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Direct the biennial didactic resident education schedule
  • Participate in yearly resident interview and selection process
  • Coordinate departmental meetings, grand rounds, conferences
  • Develop CME courses related to division activities
  • Promote the academic mission of the division through faculty and trainee development
  • Manage clinical schedule and workflow at affiliate hospitals, clinics and ORs
  • Review divisional data (PSQI) and participate in processes
  • Review division finances/clinical productivity and address issues with the Chair
  • Encourage research activities and represent at conferences
  • Recruit research faculty and assist development of a funded research enterprise
  • Represent the department on institutional projects and liaise with chairs
  • Organize divisional meetings and submit minutes
  • Identify/manage conflicts and support faculty collaboration
  • Recruitment and long-range planning for the division
  • Submit SWOT analyses for resource planning
  • Liaise with Clinical, Academic and Research vice chairs
  • Teach and train residents and supervise one fellow yearly
  • Provide patient evaluation, management and surgical care across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island and Bellevue
  • Participate in on-call and consult coverage at major NYU facilities
