Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher to support Pre-K–12 students districtwide. You will manage a SPED caseload, contribute to an innovative team, and implement effective behavioral supports.

The position emphasizes collaboration with general education staff, families, and students, with a focus on inclusion and belonging in all settings. Alaska teaching certification with SPED endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Alaska teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement required.
• Experience managing diverse caseloads across settings and disabilities.
• Knowledge of IDEA regulations and inclusive practices.
• Ability to design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans.
• Strong collaboration with general staff, families, and students.

Responsibilities

• Manage a Pre-K–12 SPED caseload across district schools.
• Contribute to a dynamic team improving district educational programs.
• Assess students using multiple forms of evaluation.
