Qualifications

• Education: High school, GED, or Associates degree or greater preferred.
• Knowledge of subjects and general curriculum.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to changing demands and distance learning.

Responsibilities

• Assume all responsibilities and duties assigned to the classroom teacher.
• Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program.
• Modify curriculum for special education students according to IEP guidelines.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides when necessary.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Record attendance and complete substitute reports.
• Attend faculty meetings when serving as a long term substitute.
• Ensure student safety and confidentiality.
• Adapt instruction for distance learning when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
